My love of art began as a child - however a career in that area was not to eventuate until a later stage. Several years ago my dream eventuated and I achieved my goal of being an artist.

Painting is food for my soul, an inner energy and drive that I follow. This process is only complete when the result is shared with other art lovers. I want the viewer to be stirred by a piece of work, to feel a connection and warmth, and have the desire to go back and view it over and over.

My work is constantly evolving; my preferred medium is acrylic on stretched handmade canvas, mixed media, metallic finishes and sometimes gold leaf.

I adore the added dimension of texture in my work and love to experiment with different techniques and special effects. The embellishment with metallic finishes adds a third dimension and sometimes I glaze to add vibrancy. The unique use of these products has become known as my 'signature'

My subject choice is varied as I find inspiration in all areas of our environment, from a plant, cloud formation, stunning vista to a beautiful nude or the emotion stirred by something visual we encounter. I also love symmetry and opulent colours which can be seen in my abstract themed works.

My love of ourNew Zealandlandscape is well known. They are often surreal and sometimes include the fern or cabbage tree and portray our unique Pacific light. I particularly love the Marlborough Sounds , however I don't attach name places as I believe this then enables the viewer to make their own associations of a special place or memory pertinent to them.

InChristchurch, I exhibit exclusively at theBryceGallery, where I have been their top selling artist for some time. I also exhibit in selected galleries in other parts ofNew Zealandand now have work in private collections in many parts of the world.
